This place was really great and there was alot to work with. Thank you guys for a great session, it was such a pleasure to spend an afternoon with you.

I firmly believe that we should all be eating seasonally. All fruits and vegetables have a particular time of year when they are at their peak. Eating according to the seasons is an important part of a healthy and sustainable diet: it has a host of benefits for your health, your hip pocket, the environment, and local business. It’s also fun, delicious, and very, very easy!
I found this excellent chart that shows you when each fruit and vegetable is in season. Using this when you purchase your produce is definitely a great idea. Click here for document.
And just to get you started… some produce to enjoy right now
I’ve been reading up about Freeganism and the Dumpster Diving movement recently as I’m keen to give it a go. Unfortunately most of the sites that I have found are American or English and things are a little bit different over there. This morning I found this great post that comes from Not Quite Nigella in Sydney.
January 3, 2010 - 11:18 amLorraine @ Not Quite Nigella - Thankyou so much for the shoutout and for the kind words! Yes freeganism is big in the US and UK but it doesn't seem to have really taken off in an organised fashion here. My adventure that night was a real eye opener though! I really enjoyed it :)
2010 is officially here and so far it has been delightful. We have been graced with some lovely weather to start it all off.
Lots to do this year, we’ll be unleashing some exciting new changes soon! Stay tuned for those.
I’m in the process of working up a list of things to do in 2010 and resolutions for the year and the one thing I am really recommending for everyone to do, is to plant a garden – vegetables or even some herbs. Gardening can be fun and it can save you alot of money as well. This has been my first year gardening and it has been amazing. We have harvested peas, beans, carrots (two! haha), lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and silverbeet! It is really fulfilling and alot of fun, give it a go, even if you just start with something small.
Having your own vegetable garden has become a priority for many people worldwide recently, including the Queen and the White House who have reinstated their gardens.
Watch this video from the White House about getting their garden up and running.
Thank you all for an amazing 2009, it’s been so good to meet lots of new faces and amazing families.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, however you are spending it.
Take a moment. Look around at your friends and family and realise how lucky you are. Look outside and appreciate the world we share. Smile. Laugh. Enjoy yourself and the amazing atmosphere that is Christmas time.
Spare a thought about people around the world, in other places. Watch this video, listen to the lyrics and appreciate how much you have.
Don’t forget to be green – save or recycle present wrapping materials.
Let me leave you with a few words from one of my favourite singer/songwriters…
“A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear”
Heads up on a wonderful resource for all you brides (and grooms) to be! I definitely recommend checking it out as there’s 128 pages of great ideas – dresses, favours, decorations – and great photographs of real weddings.

Found this poster and just thought it would be interesting to post on here. See the impact that your hamburger is having. Eat less meat and more veggies!
