It’s a piece of land slap bang in the middle of the proposed third runway site at Heathrow, now shared by over 80,000 people. We’re not going to let the runway be built and we need your help!
Why is this expansion bad? An additional runway will mean an additional 225,000 flights over London in the course of a year. This will lead to Heathrow Airport becoming the single biggest greenhouse gas emitter in the United Kingdom and will go against the British Government’s plan to reduce emissions by 80% by 2050. Also, the village of Sipson and surrounding areas will no longer exist. The community in these areas will have to relocate to make way for a gigantic concrete runway.
